Mental exile is even more painful.

VORTRAG

»Exile begins as soon as one crosses the boundaries of the prevailing religion, the state-mandated framework or the society norms of the majority« as the Turkish journalist Can Dündar, who lives in Germany, has written. His speech gives insight to what exile and persecution does to a person and why mental exile is even more painful than being expelled from one’s own country. »Like any plant that is uprooted, it is not sure if it will be able to root and bear fruit in the new soil.«
